you have some understanding of this message because its a kadampa view bec it is a special view of the value of the kadampa international festival from the views come our intentions and our determinations our actions of putting our intentions into practice so what does that mean it means that bec you under the import of the international festival your intention keeping the intention to attend the festivals year after year if we have this view in our heart we want to attend the inter kadampa festivals not just for our self but for others bec with this union we can fulfil our own and other wishes easily

so not having the wish to attend coming from the view - is the first step but then more activities have to take place - these are our twe ways of attendindng in person - most powerful and if we ar unabel too we attend using our mind through attending the online through the kindness of modern technology

it is almost beyond belief what extraordinary karma is ripening now - yes of course we have difficulties but think - how , has the karma both been created and is ripening for us to sit in this most magnificant heruka palace vg says one days we will see heruka's placae and the deities here we cannot see it beca of immpure mind but vg knows that heruka's mandala and deities are right here and we will perceive them when our mind is pure

the kindness of VG disicples who worked very hard without our kadampa family deeply wishing to serve how would this festival appear?

VG said every time you see the temple - bec we are no dogs birds etc, we are human being who have karma tohave faith in kadam d - geshela said it is a reminder - reminding us do not waiste your life. that's what the temple is saying bec these appearances of complete purity are our potential - we have potential to perceive complete purity even in this one short life bec of the teacher and the oral instructions

the temple is saying don't waste your life as you press the snooze button

also you've seen the banner of VG in front of the temple - which makes us full of joy and gratitude for what he gives us

kadampas have two jobs - harm delusions as much as possible and benefit othres as much as possible. wherever any one has faith in me i am present - b said, looking at that beautiful image with faith our guru is present. He encourages - we work together with one mind one direction one path one dedication its so easy so easy we follow his example as his faithful disciples.

so today you'll receive the empowerment of the gkds - this means receving special blessing of his holy b s and m unto our b s and m so we are going to receive the blessings of his body the blessings of his speech the blessings of his mind upon our b s and m wonnderful - he's going to pacify our obstacles deep down

Who is DS

DS - an Enl Deity - Buddha - a wisdom D proctector who is the manifestation of wisdom Bu JT. in the 17th century after the great lama ngatrul drakpa gyaltsen died - he appeared as DS - Chokyi Gyaltse listed DS former incarnations - Manjushri, mahasidha biwawa sakya panditia butan rinchen drub, these holy beingsa are also the formar incarnations of JT - proving showing that jt and ds are the same holy being in different aspects. Later the great yogi Kelsang Khedrob and other lamas inculding Trijang Rinpoche listed some of the incarnations - same as those listed by Choky Gyaltesn - this proves that DS and JT are the same mental continuum. This means one person different aspects. it is for this reason that I say that DS is the manifestation wisdom buddha JT - there is no doubt - this is following the T. JT himself appeared in the different aspect as DS to protect his doctrine of the GOL from degenerating. How does he do this? throug pacifying gathering condition and bestowing powerful blessings on his followers.

VG also explained a special recognition, a special view, as moder kadampa discipes we need to emphasise it - this is one of the main gifts of this festival - VG given this instruction - as it says in the sadhana HJ

in short from now until I attain the essence of E I shall honou ... three periods of the day and the night and never waver as my protector

This is the view - DS is the synthesis of the G Yidam - personal deity - and DP as it says in HJ - DS is the synthesis of the G Y and DP so we are being encouraged to emphasise this special recog that DS is our G - Tsongkhapa - Y - Heruka and the DP himself. We undr that DS is non other than Guru Tsongkhapa and our Yidam Heruka these Holy beings are one. Our G JT our Y Heruka and the DP himself. Wonderful.

Now then with this special view here is how we rely and what benefits we will receive.

Through relying on him in this way - seeing our G JT Y Heruka and the DP himself DS - as one - for us inseperable one. Through relying on nhim in this way what will happen? we will recevie JT blessings trough him we will receve the attainment of Hrk through him and we will receive the attainment of pacifying obstacles and gathering necessary conditions through him. When we invite DS he is our G JT our Y Hrk and the DP himself this is the special way of relying on the DP DS our G's view.

VG says this explanation encourages everybody and gives us such confidence.

VG also said DS is a modern Kadampa Buddhist Dharma Protector according to us within the interna kbunion DS If we continually rely upon DS with f he will care for us like a mother cares for her child he will guide us on the liberating paths away from samasars path if we follow this path we can lead others he will pacify oru obstacles gather all necessarily condiditons - individulally for us and we will receive his blessings through which our wisdom compassion and spi power will increase bec he is JT

Our motivation for receiving this empowerment is compassion for all living beings

what are the bostacles of our body - we sb whether human or non - within humans buddhist or non- bud bec we are sb we have no opportunity to exp pure and everlasting h - beca we are SB - why is this ? it is bec our bodies of this life and countless as basis for experiencing suffering so our body of this life acts as the basis for experineing suffering our bodies of all our future lives will also act as the basisf or experincencing suffirng - therefore ourbodies will be obstacles to experincing pure and everlasting happiness - this is the obstacles of our body. we need our body of course without it we cannot do anything but our body it self is an obstacle for experincing pure and everlasting h because it itslef is the basis for experincing suffering it is contamintaed by the inner poison of delusions. our body of this life and our countless future lives all of these are basis for experinicng suffering . Human bodyes human suffrings animal sbodies animal sufferings these are the obstacles of our body. w/o this body - as shantideva say a boat to libartion but we also need to und it acts as a basis for experincing suffering this is the obstacles of our body

our mind - is the same - our present mind is the basis for experinicng suff the mind of this life and countess future lives act as a basis forexperincing suffirng bec they are contaminated by the inner poison of dulu so it is obstacle for experincing pura and evenlasting happiness. we lb abiding in samasar in this impure world - no one has the opportunitiy to exp pure and everlasting h bec our b and m will be obstacles to experinicng pure and everlasting happiness this is the obstales of our body we undr this through our precious lamrim prayer in the cycel of this impure life samasal

VG is telling us - the real obstacle that if you pacified it all obstacles will disappear - we need GDS powerful blessings - through these we can pacify these obstacles attain bodies emanated through miracle powers - this contaminated body is the obstacle to pacify - take uncontaminated boy as a basis and suffering will cease. uncontaminated body gives no choice - suffering coming continually bce of the thought I in dependence the contaminated boyd.

what we really undg comes from his instructions our guru's words - we should know we are thinking I i even during sleep bec of this we perceive an I as our self this way ... through this we can undr how we identify ourself mistakingly all the time. for example suppose a practitioner throu.... spontaneously thinks I am john because his boi his b and m are contaminated by the inner poison of delu his recgo of himself as john will cause him to expe suffering contiunually. if john does not wish to experinece suffering he need to change his boi from contaminated to uncontaminate such as the b and m of hrk vy jt or any other guru deity - this is not only for john but for everyone any one who does not wish to exp suffe needs to change teir boi
